Start Packing Early and Everything Will Be Alright
Do you know the common problem of movers? They pack on a hurry. When you pack while cramming, chances are you won't be able to pack your things properly. This might lead to damaged things or worse, injuries. It may be possible to get back the value of the things that might be damaged but if these things are sentimental, it will be difficult to bring them back to normal.
You really need to pack early-but how early?
Consider that a college student averagely takes five hours to pack all his things up when moving out. And that student doesn't take up all the room's space-only half of all items inside the room belong to him. Now, how many rooms do you have in your house? That means every room will take up 10 hours to pack.
That is why most people pack items room-per-room. But some pack items depending on their importance. Things that are not always needed like those used for displays are packed first. Meanwhile, pack items that you use everyday on the night or two days before the moving date.
Aside from packing early or packing strategically, you should also follow the right packing procedures for your things. Clothes are packed differently from fragile items and frames are packed differently from furniture pieces.
Ask a professional mover or someone who has experience in moving items for some packing tips.
