A Move out Plan for College Students

It is never easy to pack for a move, especially if you are a college student moving out of your dorm room. But if you are prepared and organized, the entire process will be manageable. Here are some top tips to help you move out with less pain.
Be Ready
When you know what to expect, it is easy to create a structured plan. Begin by determining your moving date. Usually at dorms, moving is done on rotation. This means that each student is assigned a move out date. Be sure to ask yours to avoid surprises. Also ask when your room inspection is scheduled and what is required so you can prepare and don't lose your security deposit.
Buy Packing Materials
The next step is to buy the necessary materials for packing and moving. You will need several moving boxes of different sizes, cushioning such as bubble wrap and packing peanut, newsprints, markers, packing tape and a pair of scissors.
Principles of Packing
Keep in mind that packing is a science. It involves several techniques and methods that ensure each item is protected during and after transit. You want to properly pack and load the items into the boxes so they don't get damaged. Be sure to reinforce the seams of the boxes with packing tape. Don't overload the boxes so you can easily carry each one to the truck. Lastly, mark each box with their contents.
